A few years ago I was looking for a task management tool. I wasn't sure what features my desired solution should have. I assumed it should be web-based since I wanted to use it from any computer connected to the internet, it should allow sharing tasks with my coworkers and it should be easy to learn and use.
As I remember, I spent a few days googling, browsing, reading lengthy and not always clear descriptions of various tools. I also started a number of trials to get a feeling of available solutions.
Finally I've sellected Wrike and I'm still using it!
What is so appealing to me about Wrike? I think two things:
- easy of use
- flexibility
Wrike is not a huge package such as Microsoft Project. It feels to me more like a combination of an online email client and spreadsheet. And for most cases it is just enough.
Also, this simplicity allows great flexibility. You can use Wrike for many tasks, you wouldn't be able to use Project for. For example I used to use it for kind of account management. Currently I use it more like a list of tasks to be done and issue tracker.
I'm sort of fan of GTD (Getting Things Done) methodology, although I still have problems fully sticking to it. Nevertheless I like to keep both my inbox and mind clean and Wrike allows me to store and organize many of my tasks.
